Dear Jim –

Thank you so much for sending me a copy of your just published Angels We Have Heard. The piece on my dad, Robert L. May, is probably the best I have ever seen. The research is incredibly meticulous and the account unusually candid. I appreciate all of the effort that went into this on your part. Your determination to tell the real story – in all of its richness and humanity – is most evident and very deeply appreciated by Rudolph’s only brother.  I hope that the book does well, but I have a sense from what you obviously put into it that you will enjoy a rich satisfaction from what you have documented and contributed no matter how the book sells.

I enclose my check in the amount of $55.00, and thank you again for your having produced a wonderful memorial to my dad.

Best Wishes,

Christopher May

In 1939, Robert L. May wrote the children’s book Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer. The above is a letter sent to James Richliano on October 22, 2002, by his son, Christopher May, regarding Angels We Have Heard: The Christmas Song Stories.
